Oil on Canvas, 18 x 24 inches. I\'ve been dying to put this idea onto canvas. It\'s been in my head for a good week and was killing me not to be able to paint it. It\'s Venice with a huge afternoon blue sky above it. The point behind it all relates to Venice\'s reputation as a once big trade city-state who made most through their advances in improved sails. Also Titian made it clear that Venice was proud of their blue skies, which contain the wind that fuel their sails and economy. Anyway, I like the concept behind this and plan to do things with the emphasis with the sky on the landscape.
