Rocks are quite unlike other natural elements with their dominant sold forms. I wanted to really get to grips with that aspect by cramming jagged angles into the claustrophobic blackened space. The colour serves to exaggerate their form, whilst the thick application of paint emphasises their solidness through tactility.
